Zusammenfassung

Eine Studie am Klinikum Klagenfurt zeigt eine massive Diskrepanz zwischen palliativmedizinischem Bedarf und Angebot in Notaufnahmen. 13,2 % aller erwachsenen Patient:innen, die eine Notaufnahme aufsuchen, zeigen palliativmedizinische Symptome und benötigen daher ein zielgerichtetes palliatives Therapiemanagement. Davon erhalten aber nur rund 5 % ein palliatives Angebot. Die Autoren plädieren daher für die Entwicklung geeigneter Strukturen in Österreichs Notaufnahmen, um diesen Patient:innen die bestmögliche Versorgung zukommen zu lassen.
