Zusammenfassung

Die Polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) ist eine häufige entzündlich-rheumatische Erkrankung, die ältere Personen betrifft und durch Schmerzen im Bereich des Schulter- und Beckengürtels charakterisiert ist. Die Diagnose wird vorwiegend klinisch gestellt, bildgebende Verfahren können jedoch die Spezifität der Diagnosestellung erhöhen. Hilfreich im klinischen Alltag ist aufgrund der guten Verfügbarkeit und einfachen Anwendbarkeit die Sonographie. Zur Detektion entzündlicher Pathologien im Bereich des Hüftgürtels weist die MRT Vorteile auf, und bei atypischen Verläufen kann eine PET/CT zum Screening auf Grossgefässvaskulitiden oder Malignität hilfreich sein.
